Procurement Summary
The Laboratory of Immunogenetics (LIG) focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the signaling functions in immune cells. The LIG has recently expanded its focus to include work on isolating human monoclonal antibodies against different infectious diseases including COVID-19. These antibodies can be used to design new vaccine candidates and be tested for the ability to prevent the SARS-CoV-2 infection. A benchtop shaking incubator is a vital piece of equipment required to provide the optimal environment to culture yeast cells. The yeast cell culture is necessary to identify and isolate monoclonal antibodies against COVID-19. The Laboratory of Immunogenetics (LIG) is seeking to request a stackable benchtop shaking incubator for providing the precise environmental parameters required for various sized yeast cell cultures. The yeast cell culture is an essential step for identifying and isolating monoclonal antibodies against COVID-19.
